Couple Love - Governor Ajimobi In Passionate Kiss With Wife After Oyo Election

Posted in: , , ,

This is Nigerian old school love in a rare show of PDA brought on by the ongoing gubernatorial elections. According to a reporter at the government house, the incumbent APC governor  of Oyo State, Abiola Ajimobi received a passionate kiss from his wife after results from the state showed he was in clear lead. If true, he has broken the jinx as the first governor in the state to be re-elected.

For Naija Men - How NOT To Get A Wife In Nigeria If You Live Abroad

Posted in: ,

Men in diasporas are wising up, they don't go to Nigeria for wives as they have realised that those ladies are more dubious than the ladies in oyinbo land. If you live in abroad, may be in Europe, The Americas or anywhere, and you desperately need a wife from home, please follow these rules.

1. Do not let any lady you are interested in, know you live abroad in the first place, if she must know, tell her you are in Ghana or Uganda etc

2. Do not select lady who is well versed in the use of the internet, these are ladies who are advertising themselves nakedly on different websites to dupe unsuspecting men, they will jump on you and dump you as soon as they relocate with you.

Marriage Sabbatical - Could Taking Time Away From Your Marriage Make It Stronger?

Posted in: , ,

Marriage sabbatical is a term coined by author Cheryl Jarvis, who wrote a book about women taking time out from their marriages to do something for themselves, something they felt being married was stopping them from doing.

The idea of pulling apart in a relationship that is meant to be all about togetherness may seem illogical, but increasing number of couples are embracing the idea of one of them, especially the wife, taking a ‘sabbatical’ from their marriage in order to make it stronger.

A marriage sabbatical is different from a trial separation and the couple are not discussing divorce in any way. There is also no room for relationships or sex with other people while the wife or husband is taking the sabbatical.

The debate surrounding 'marriage sabbaticals' was sparked recently when actress Emma Thompson revealed that she believes every married couple would benefit from such a break. And it got me thinking.

How to Be a Good Wife - Single or Married, You Must Read This!

Posted in: , , ,

The Good Wives Guide is another list [read the first] of ten steps on how to be a good wife, and it comes from a 1950s home economics textbook. Or Not. It is partly satire, but the truth is that it can't hurt to put some of the guidelines to use for a happy home. Am I being sarcastic? Not really, but you decide, LOL...

• Have dinner ready. Plan ahead, even the night before, to have a delicious meal ready on time for his return. This is a way of letting him know that you have been thinking about him and are concerned about his needs. Most men are hungry when they get home and the prospect of a good meal is part of the warm welcome needed.

• Prepare yourself. Take 15 minutes to rest so you'll be refreshed when he arrives. Touch up your make-up, put a ribbon in your hair and be fresh-looking. He has just been with a lot of work-weary people.

Sex Education For Married Women, Have You Read This?

Posted in: , , ,

The text from the picture above is suppossedly an extract from a sex education school textbook for girls, printed in the 50s or 60's to help women to enjoy sex with their husband and keep their home.

However, according to those that know better, the extract is a fabrication. It didn't surface until long after the text began circulating by email and is "clearly a mock-up". It is just possible that it dates from the 50s - presumably as a satire on contemporary images of the ideal housewife. On balance it's likely to be far more recent, however. It is said  to have been circulating in faxed form since the 1980s.

Read the text in full below, and laugh. Or maybe not. In this day and age, some people still think this is how sex in marriage should be. Do you agree?

What Nigerian Women Will Do To Get Married - Fact or Fiction?

Posted in: , , ,

By Neeta

"Statistics show that only 3% of single women of marriageable age in Nigeria are undisturbed by their lack of a spouse! The other 97% would do just about anything to become Mrs. Somebody''.

As we read on, we are going to see some rather unorthodox things Nigerian women will do in their quest to bag a husband! Some are bizarre, some are skanky and some are downright sad but if you are willing to try anything and getting a husband is the only activity left on your bucket list, you might want to try a few! (Men beware). In no particular order:

Kinds of Nigerian Husbands and Wives

Posted in: , , , , , ,

I'll put the disclaimer first before some ask for my head. This is a comedic chain-mail. Dirty Dishes who first posted it said, "The article is about the stereotypical perception of the Nigerian husband and wife... This is in no way to insult any tribe so please do not get offended. It is also not meant to annoy anyone, hurt anyone or make any tribe look superior or inferior." I saw it on Deronk's and though I'm really not one for stereotype jokes, this got me laughing. Enjoy...

Old School Naija PDA - Fashola Kisses Wife

Posted in: , , ,

I'm liking how the supposed old school couples are not just talking but showing the young ones how to love and show romance. Last time it was Bola and Remi Tinubu, now it is Governor Fashola kissing his wife, Abimbola. I wonder, is there something in Lagos waters?

This was at the closing ceremony of the Committee of Wives of Lagos State Officials meeting. I am happy to see that all those looking on were applauding, no one is frowning :)

Why Are Some Nigerian Marriages Such a Farce?

Posted in: , , ,

We were watching Arnold Schwarznegger on 60minutes and he was talking about the breakup of his marriage and how he regretted his actions. One of us, an older Nigerian woman, was not aware of the story so I brought her up to date. She was surprised that Arnold's wife had asked for a divorce, and felt she shouldn't have. For her, a child outside the marriage was not reason enough for divorce. In the discussion, I came away with the following insight about Nigerian marriages.
